Litera Szin tej mezuzy stanowi osobny element, który pełni funkcję zamknięcia wnęki na zwój z modlitwą, swym kształtem przypominając koronę Tory. Całość mezuzy symbolizuje więc sukienkę Tory. Otwór na gwóźdź do zamocowania mezuzy na odrzwiach znajdujący się po prawej górnej stronie symbolizuje znak wokalizacji, który odróżnia literę Szin od Sin.

The letter Shin is a separate object, which symbolize a crown of Torah. You put a scroll into the hole on the top of mezuza and close it using this letter Shin. The hole for nail on the Shin is at the right side as the dot over the letter Shin (at the left side would be Sin).
